The horrors of Hurricane Harvey are difficult to comprehend, we were lucky here at Kyla’s Lab. This was my first hurricane and we have had bad floods before but nothing like we experienced with past few days. I have friends and family that were directly affected from the storm. I want to give to after the influx of help has slowed down. I want to spread that luck and love to those in need. For the entire month of September all of the profit off of my yarns will be send to the Houston Food Bank and the Southeast Texas Food Bank.
A lot of knitters, weavers, and creatives lost their stashes and work. Amazing organizations have already come through with a system to help. The Ralvery group Knit Two Together for Texas is one. You can give or request a donation http://www.ravelry.com/groups/knit-two-together-for-texas How can you help other artists: http://glasstire.com/2017/09/01/houston-art-suppliers-offering-relief-for-artists/ http://glasstire.com/2017/08/28/heres-a-list-of-emergency-resources-for-artists/ I am also attaching an article for you to donate money directly to local origination that interests you. 46% of the population of Texas was affected by this storm, and it was not just Houston but all of Southeast Texas. Let’s keep love in our hearts beyond this tragedy. https://www.houstoniamag.com/articles/2017/8/29/donate-to-these-local-houston-charities
